General Information

The 600 series was built from 1941-1946 and was the only triple-combination hose car that was also a pumper truck. The vehicle carried a water tank, many hoses and a water pump. It was essentially the same as the civilian model, but the water tank capacity was increased from 200 to 500 gallons and the location for the third hose on each side was modified for the Navy version. The 600-series fire trucks were less expensive and more simplified than the 500-series of the 1930s and 1940s.

Specific Information

This fire truck was originally ordered by the Navy Ammunition Depot at Bangor, Washington, where it operated until the late 1970s. It was probably repainted in the 1960s. Heritage Flight Museum has owned the truck since the museum opened in 1996.
